Ilana Schwartz aka Javadoodles is a 3D Animator at Nickelodeon Animation Studio whose work includes promos, animation and social media art for many of Nick’s shows including The Loud House, Paw Patrol, and Bunsen Is A Beast! In today’s episode she discusses her path from interning at Little Airplane Productions to working for Nickelodeon both in New York and in Burbank. Along the way Ilana channeled her love of collaboration and social media into creating her own unique brand and style. The Nickelodeon Summer miniseries continues with animator Crystal Stromer! Crystal’s work expands the animation universe ranging from 2D animation to puppetry. She served as an animator for several shows including Nickelodeon’s El Tigre and as an animator and animation director for Shadow Machine’s BoJack Horseman, and now works as a 2D animator for one of Nickelodeon’s newest shows, Bunsen Is A Beast. In this episode we talk about what it was like growing up in Florida, making the journey to Los Angeles, and how her love of painting and puppetry and seeing how things move have aided her animation career. And we talk a great deal about The Muppets — because they’re awesome!
